Digital X-rays
Why are digital x-rays better?
Better Diagnosis
Digital technology converts x-ray signals into groups of pixels and every pixel is digitally coded. This results in clearer more accurate image as well as the ability to capture lower contrast objects that analog technology may not pick-up. Dr. Chip and Dr. Stephanie are able to see clearer images which helps in the diagnostic process.
Less Radiation
Exposure to high energy electromagnetic radiation from x-rays accumulates in the body over time. Digital technology reduces the need for retaking x-rays because the first ones were poor quality. Eliminating retakes not only lowers health care costs but also lowers the risks to the body from the potentially damaging effects of x-rays. An advantage of digital x-ray is the amount of electromagnetic radiation exposure is up to 80 percent less.
